Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. Her initial appearances on Broadway include in the musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has worked on projects with award-winning directors, actors, and producers for most of her career. Ashford's next project will be a limited-edition Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford's upcoming project is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is a Hulu Original, the film will be a part of Disney DTC's platform. Ashford will be seen as Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the national security crisis. Ashford was a part of two seasons of the popular CBS comedy B Positive. It was co-produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin, Hector Elizondo, and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her portrayal of Essie on You Can't Take It with You earned her Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are amongst her additional Broadway performances. Ashford splits her life between Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and was raised in Denver.
